Adventura de Yucatan!

Just back from the Yucatan, two week trip. Pooped, second degree burns on the flippers, highly wicking laundry bill, usual complaints / no complaints. Photo shoot, with fishing. 13 bodies, five locations, three Suburbans, $4800 bar bill. I broke everything I came with. I learned how to really fish (AKA how to avoid putting a hook through ear cartilage), some stuff about age gap, and that one can go to Mexico and almost avoid total colon failure. This wasn't possible 5 years ago.

While I was gone we bought house and moved into it. Anticipate under separate cover. Missed all my girls terribly.

Isla Mujeres - Myrtle in the making. Marlin, way off shore. We caught Mahi on the ten weights from the bow, 25 miles off shore.

Isla Holbox, north of Cancun. Tarpon hunting. Morning, day one. In search of the 140 pounders.

Our guide, Tomas. Only advice - "just fish, Tio". Put us on Blue Runner quickly after, given, my compadre and I were able to muster ten foot casts in 25 mph headwinds. Hobo fishing, again.

Mullet prep - this was served as Pompano.

Our guides, in repose.

The nautical mystic. Right about when my luck turned for the better.

Ferry to Chiquila.

Coba. Object in picture appears smaller than in reality.

Tulum.

Boca Paila, near Acension Bay. Big time big times.

Jose Wejebe. Solid explorer.

Night fishing for tarpon and snapper (and puffer fish).

And Poseidon.

Rainbow Monsters

I slept through this royal wedding, Jane INFATUATED with princesses. Mom gave her a bridal magazine, which she's interpreted as a magazine devoted to princesses. Better than cartoon, now that's an attention getter.

I think Beav threatened I'd post these a few weeks back. Hit the Kenny Chesney show in Dallas, parent's night out. Some concert. Don't know much about KC, but he's clearly got a Gaga fetish. Show was in Cowboy stadium which is bigger than these things ought to be. Sheer pagenatry start to finish.

On the concert tip, caught Willie's 78th Birthday party last night, Coco and Mo in tow. Much less animal. He's still got it. Bang! Hit! Bang! Hit! Great visit from the NC gparents, hurry back.

Holy Cross.

Beav nixed the beardo. Urban Woodsman being so three years ago.

Architectures.

Eating well in the ATX. Tiny got me hooked on the Belgians again.

Guess?

Spent a week in LA with these criminals.

Big Week

Skipping our trip to Dallas last weekend,
but I'll let Austin take that one.
He's been in LA all week,so here's what
Janebug and I have been up to:

Ready for preschool Easter Egg hunt on Wednesday morning

Off they go
Jane's class after the haul

Happy Hour at Rain Lily Farm
(the farm that runs our CSA delivery)

Xander MacPhail joined us in the driveway for egg dying.
He opted for just a diaper. Jane wore a tutu, natch.

Friday night pizza and ice cream date with Mom.
We both deserved it.

Finally, a hint at my biggest project of the week.
More on that soon...

Ready for you to come home now sweetheart!

The Whirly Canes

Been pretty busy since returning from Tahoe. House hunting, business trips, sneezing, teaching Jane about pigpiles. We are headed to Dallas next weekend to see Kenny Chesney in the new Cowboy's stadium. I don't know anything about Chesney, other than moms are into him. It's a work thing, but we're already cutting sleeves off outfits in preparation.

Last weekend borrowed a kayak and paddled the CO. Ten miles, caught one fish.

Spring twirly dress arrived from Coco industries. She test drove it to a birthday party today. Pretty boss.

Some kind of vintage car rally on Congress. Me and the Volvo hit this hard.

This is from a few months ago, Jane and Lissy doing porch tunes.
