Ida Lu

After saying I Love You to Jane about 17 million times,
she has finally reciprocated.
"I-duh-LOO" is what I'm getting, and I'll take it!
Here are some shots to hold Daddy over while he's in Belize,
plus some action video...
Porch time
Slumber Party
Staying up late for her first Longhorns game
With Liam on the mic, Jane on keyboard
And those two at the "sprayground"Practicing for music class

And here she is talking about 2 of her favorite things:
(Mama's been playing around with iMovie- this one is an homage to Tiny)

Finally, this gem sent in from Aunt Colleen. This is Austin Sr. (Grandpa Gus) and Uncle Austin standing at the corner of Austin Street in Austin, Texas. Whoa.
Miss you babe. xoxo W+J

Separation Anxiety

Well, I'm in lower Belize. Pretty rustic, that's kind.

Gots the internets but no cell phones. Before we set out on missions to capture the Jaguar Yeti and such, will drop one for you as I clear my hard drive.

That's my daughter, in my old jeans. Makes the travel just a touch tough. Add the genius to wife to the mix, fiddlesticks.

Comedy and an S.O.S. to follow.

Take her to the Pitt. Go, Big-booty. Use more honey. Find out what she knows.

Me and the girls are listening to King Khan, good times.

Managed to sneak out over the weekend and see the new Tarantino effort. Liked it lots, could have used a couple more hand grenades. Makes two movies for me this calendar year, theatered. Also went to my first Austin House Party. Hanging out in yards and stuff. Herb garden pretty much deceased. Holding on to my bay leaf tree, useful. Pants getting tighter.

Meanwhile in Charlotte:

Robert Rodriguez is shooting "Machete" out front of the office. Lowlights:

Been coming home to some epic meals, care of the missus. She's been told if these don't work out, it's back to work.

Many Labors of Labor Days

Congratulations to the US men's soccer academy and penalty expedition for managing a slight thump of lowly El Salvador. See you in South Africa ladies. No slight to El Salvador, who looked pretty handsome in those blue unis. Hard to imagine Benny Feilhaber may make the trip, while Lionel Messi catches up on Law and Order reruns.

Speaking of crime and punishment, the baby Jane, in her quarters. Wounds managed, nostrils producing unholy volume:

All kinds of house guests and old friends local these past weeks. Visits much celebrated. Kicking off events, the always missed Mnookins, fresh from Mexico, bat radar dialed in. Spread courtesy of Mrs. McKenna, photo credit on the second below, SJ. The James has the touch, baby whisperer in training. Seth may have had a Lucha Libre mask on moments before this last one was snapped - all kinds of fist balling ensued, our girls needs two weeks at commando camp.

Winz pics from the backyard pool, courtesy of Texas inflatables.

Thinking about her next agonizing stunt of peerless quality.

The entirely brilliant Balsleys arrived on Saturday. We hit for the cycle - Barton Springs, Broken Spoke, the Salt Lick (aka the Hyatt Driftwood), San Jose, Polvos, Zilker Park. Dad had many beers, many calories, a mighty chuckle or two.

Clean plate club, Polvo's:

Olan Mills enjoyed herself as well.

From Charles superb Labor Day Hoo Haw. This is Chico and the Man, and Uncle Charles on Meat Frisbees:

When people ask me who she favors, I find it obvious.
