A tweener

I just got back from Marfa, this time, the El Cosmico Festival of Beer and Other Fried Stuff. It was extraordinary. Took about a bushel of pictures, so for next post.

In the meantime, the other news gone unreported.

More ACL action -- in no or random order. This is headliner ARCADE FIRE somewhere around the last tune. Confession, I'm not into these guys on account of their terrible clothes and drama class pageantry. But they put on a hell of a show. Pleased we can claim them.

Broken Social Scene, figure one of their last shows. Brilliantly bad outfits.

SHINER event, Tuba at my table.

Cap'n Nirav. I didn't have the stones to wear the jersey.

Everytime the Saints Came Marching in, she plunged.

Behind me, Fleet Foxes.

JB, swamp machine.

Friday post show, OBITS. They borrowed my amp.

My buddy Alex from work opened, HEX DISPENSERS.

Jane in separates.

THATS COACH, Dripping Springs. When he thanked the help, I made the sign of the cross.

And, more evidence that TX BBQ is somewhere between egg rolls and Cincinnati Chili on the order of good things.

Les Miz

Welcome to the 3rd trimester.

I'm not gonna lie, this one has not been easy.
I haven't trusted Austin to get me on film, but realized I'd be disappointed not to have any photographic evidence of this pregnancy... so there you have it.
27 weeks.

Jane specifically asked me to make the following video....
"so I can show it to my baby sister when she pops out
to teach her how to dance."
OK.

Otherwise, lots going on at the house. Bookshelves being built, furniture hauled cross country, bed being made, things being upholstered, slipcovered, spray-painted, and otherwise imagined, reimagined and "Pinterested". Once things are presentable, we'll post evidence of all our progress. All this homemaking at least distracts from the pregnancy woes. Well, sometimes.

Current state of new baby's room:
I think she's gonna love it!

Here are a couple of shots from this past weekend. ACL music festival here. Austin had work involvement Fri-Sun, so we had to visit him on-site to see him. Love these nerds.

And Austin got to actually go see some rock at the festival too:

Jane's top baby names to date:

Smash Potato Yellowy Cake McKenna

End of the second frimester

Beav is 26 weeks pregnant now. Imagine we'll produce some evidence of this shortly, but things are getting serious - AKA - the snoogle is back out, I'm eating breakfast again, etc.

Meanwhile, mostly just fishing and eating stuff. It's HATCH season, so we went for it. Green chile pork stew -- 2 alarm.

Everyone tried to eat through the pain, but it nailed us. Got JB around bite five. We installed a turkey sandwich for countermeasures.

Washed it down with a few of these, recon beers.

Different night, finished the last of the 179 Wine Cellar. This one fared less well than others.

Most recently, Jane v. Me - chicken leg eating contest.

From last Saturday on the CO. Big fish not biting, top water effective for exactly five minutes.

Pete, monitoring the release. Not pictured, a bag of frozen corn.

Somewhere near Redbud. Rental kayak. Lake records all safe.

Jane made this card for Jack. Very proud of the results, not in the mood for donating it to the birthday party.

Singing Sly and the Family Stone, Whip In. Dad discouraged from table dancing.

Our new fascination.

New look bedroom - big doings.
