The kind of pumpkins that turn your bones to glass
Three year olds are full of extraordinary observations. Clever thinkers too. JB asked how many more bites of dinner she needed to finish before she could have a ginger snap. I told her she needed to finish her bowl of pasta, period. She asked about how many bites that might be, I offered 25. She countered, "I'll eat three and then yell 25!". This was a good plan by any stretch. She also asked how pumpkins felt about getting carved. I suggested they looked forward to it, she suggested being gutted was probably not fun. Not interested in cleaning pumpkin guts. We can't wait for Halloween.
The Bug, talking about candy and in what order she plans to dominate her loot basket.
Pumpkin picking. Only wanted baby pumpkins.
Party in Travis Heights. Dad ate four sandwiches.
Everything round here getting creepy.
Sandlot baseball, Texas Playboys, east of the airport.
Dry run on jack-o-lantern prep.
More evidence of what's coming.
First strike, Rainbow Princess, office party.
The interns, not in costume.

Tiny Art Dictator, er... Art Director
Jane wants to be a "rainbow princess" for halloween. Whenever we have talked about the costume, she repeatedly vetoes my ideas and suggestions, so I finally had to do a drawing for her to amend/edit/approve. Above is the design we've currently settled on. I was not expecting these opinions at 3, though Coco says I deserve it... Wish me luck getting this together with a massive head cold and giant pumpkin belly!

New Moves
Jane has an out-of-town friend who's under the weather,
so she made him this video to cheer him up.
It cheered us up too!
Meanwhile, 31-week bump-shot. Are we there yet?
Otherwise, we've been up to stuff like this:
The den sofa got a makeover thanks to hot new pillows...
Rooster fabric designed by our very own Ambriel Floyd Bostic:
(and pillows sewn by Coco, natch)
Hopeful for big happenings on the home-improvement
front in the next week or so. Before & After shots to come.
In the meantime, focus is on Halloween decorations
for the porch and costume for Janebug.
Get Well Liam!

Titans of Moravia
The heat has broken, oddly, with it our spirits. Mom's sick. Dad's ready to be a carpenter. Jane is wearing socks with slippers, a t-shirt dress, no pants and is harassing neighbors from the porch. She's ready for the porch to be terrifying, and is not happy about not having the supplies to get here immediately. My lunch budget has been re-purposed for pumpkin purchases.
Been on the road for ages. Last weekend, WFHS 20th reunion. Nuts. Moutos and Stabes:
KP and Pugh, admiring the hardware on the deck of some bar that shouldn't ever exist on a street in Winston I didn't know existed.
The Phan.
The O-line.
McG / Boyer, late night in the hotel lobby.
Peabody / Sherman. Peabody can bench 4 Hundo now.
Mike Cobbler. Lucky strike.
That is Chad Sanderson. Did not see that one coming.
The Hendrix clan, Pepperidge original settlers.
I actually went to Old Salem.
The old house on Deverow, hasn't been painted since I painted it.
And, my accommodations at the Village Inn of Clemmons. That's horse blood, everywhere.
Miss this stuff.
Les Savy Fav, Mohawk, Austin.
Happy birthday Hawes!
And a few from Marfa, some weeks back. That's Robert Plant. 6'1", still got it.
Here's an LZ special, bizarre.
