$736K Field Trip

Fish pics from a few weeks back.

Destination, Cat Cay. Private island in the Bahamas, about 8 nautical miles from less-fancy Bimini.

45 minutes by puddle jumper from Ft. Lauderdale.

Quarry: giant Bluefin Tuna. And the usual crapfish.

Kind of like the island of misfit toyboys. It ought to be brilliant, often is, but also squarely Bahamian. Or, the golf course was all about underwater, covered in feral chickens, and strictly for the brochure. I loved it.

Making a movie with the Beez. Plus, a photoshoot with some ex-tarheels.

Bluefin haven't been caught off Bimini in five years.  Hemmingway was the first to wrangle one on a rod, and yacht-life happened quickly after. Worth a googles.

Likely less interesting to this fanbase, but we managed a catch, 800 pounder, caught by Little Roy Merritt (makes boats for Alan Jackson). Who had the flu. That stuff to follow, cheap stuff below.

Great times. I cooked every night. Mostly for 30.

Ammo, 99% useless.
